The Sun City West Yoga Club is open to all Sun City West owner-member residents and tenants (with SCW Rec Center or Tenants cards) and their accompanied guests.  The Yoga Club offers mat yoga, chair yoga, guided meditation, foam roller, and stretching.  Beginning, intermediate, and advanced classes are available.  Choose just the right yoga classes for your needs.

What classes are offered?

  • For the current schedule of in-studio classes, see In-studio Classes

  • For detailed descriptions of these classes, see Classes.

  • (For online classes offered independently by instructors see Online Classes.)

Where are classes held?

  • Studio classes are held in the yoga studio at the Beardsley Recreation Center.

  • Please arrive 20-30 minutes before the class starts.

  • You will need to show your Rec Card and Yoga Club membership card to the monitor(s) to enter a class.

  • Please bring your own props - mat, strap, blocks, blanket, roller, etc. (at least one yoga block is highly recommended).

What do classes cost, and how do I pay?

  • Studio classes are $4 per person, per class.

  • Payment is by prepaid card; checks are also accepted.  Cash is not accepted.

  • Prepaid cards do not expire and are available for purchase in denominations of $20 or $40 at every class by check payable to SCW Yoga Club (cash is not accepted).

  • You can attend up to four classes before joining the club.  There are no free classes.

  • Note:  Prepaid cards are not replaceable and not refundable.

How do I join the SCW Yoga Club?

  • Membership is available to Sun City West owner-member residents and tenants who are in good standing with the Association.  Non-residents are not eligible for membership.

  • Annual membership for the calendar year is $10, non-prorated.  Checks only, payable to SCW Yoga Club.

  • Purchase membership by coming to any class (arriving 15 to 30 minutes before the class starts.)  Class monitors will sell you a membership card (to expedite your application, you can find a printable membership form here to fill out and bring to class).

  • You will need your Yoga Club membership card and SCW Rec or Tenant Card to enter a class.

  • Note: Members on record in 2020 do not need to rejoin in 2021.

How can I help out as a class monitor?

  • Classes cannot be held without monitors.  Monitors handle check-in, sales of prepaid cards and memberships, and answer questions.

  • To sign up for monitoring a class, come early to the class and tell the monitor.

  • The monitor will show you the monitor schedule for the class.

  • Write your name on the dates you want to monitor.

  • Add the dates and times to your calendar as a reminder.

  • Read the Monitor Handbook to see what monitors do.

  • Note:  Only SCW Yoga Club members may be monitors.

Good to Know!

Please Use Fragrances Sparingly in Class
Most of us don’t even think about chemical sensitivities when we spray on perfume or cologne, but for some residents this can be a severe problem.  The Rec Centers have asked the community to keep this in mind as they go about their activities and attend our events.
